Some Facts about Stretton

Location & Facilities

Stretton lies to the East of the A1, 13 miles South of Grantham and 8 miles North of Stamford

The village has 3 parts, the main village, Stretton Woods houses which lies 1 mile to the North of the village and Stocken, which is a further 3/4 mile north.  Stocken comprises apartments in Stocken Hall, Mews houses and Stocken Farm with various dwellings.  See the OS map to the right.

The village has a pub, The Jackson Stops (it was called The White Horse, but some time in the last century it was for sale for so long with a Jackson Stops Estate Agent sign up that the name stuck!) The Jackson Stops is open every day except Mondays and serves food.

Stretton has a church, St Nicholas, which lies on the Southern edge of the village.  Click for more info

There is no shop in the village, but just across the A1 is the Ram Jam Garage which in addition to fuel, sells most of the basics, including newspapers.  The garage is 1/2 mile from the centre of the village.

On the same site as the Petrol Station, there is also a Service/Repairs garage, Greetham Garage.

Stretton is a Conservation Village – see the conservation map on this page for the boundary of the consevation area – marked as a geen line.
